The Fixed and Index Combination product allows customers to hedge using both fixed and index prices. The fixed price will apply to a specified quantity of customer load that the customer and Clear Energy Solutions determine jointly. Hourly usage over or under the specified quantity will be priced based on an index of the customer’s choice. So a certain amount of the load will be fixed and the the remainder will float.

Index products are appropriate for customers who wish to purchase electricity at the market rate or have the ability to alter usage patterns as the market changes. Index products are beneficial for customers who expect electricity prices to decline. This product is great to avoid risk by not locking in when prices are high. You may remain indexed and then as prices drop you can then lock your load if you choose.
A Fixed price product guarantees a customer a single price for the contracted volume of electricity over the contract period. Fixed Price products are attractive to customers who want to protect themselves from rising markets or who must meet established budget objectives. You lock in a delivered price for a specified volume over the contract period. This will guarantee you the ability to meet your budget objective.
